Expansion of the size weight bioplastics often occurs in daily use. This phenomenon happens because material from can absorb significant amounts water. process lead to accumulation swelling degree. Therefore, a mathematical model is needed quantify this mechanism predict dynamics changes with respet time while contact water help practitioners during application design for use bioplastics. study aims build derived mass sense validated by experimental data through curve fitting. The experiment was conducted observing rate change bioplastic made starch and chitosan measuring concerning immersed under atmospheric conditions. immersion varied between 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 20, 30, 40,50, 60 minutes. As result, it be concluded that starch-chitosan-based biofilms up ±10.9174 gr-water/gr-bioplastic, also quantified equation balance an average percent error 1.13% R-squared coefficient 0.9981.
